The Cambridge Branch was formed on 18th April 1980 and now has 66 members.

At our meetings we chat about old times, have a raffle, the proceeds going towards Branch funds, we make occasional donations to the WRAC Association and the ATS/WRAC Benevolent Fund.

All meetings take place in the Sergeants Mess, Waterbeach Barracks, Waterbeach, Cambridge, on the First Monday of every month. If there is a Bank Holiday then the next available Monday is used. Meetings take place between 1945hrs - 2200hrs. We do not have an official meeting in August but do go out for a meal or have a barbecue. We always have a Christmas Dinner.

Cambridge Branch

Hello all, the Branch is in its 28th year and we still meet monthly. Since my last report we have been allocated three new members – welcome to Mary Kirkham, Jean Pearson and Margaret Waterson.  We look forward to meeting them at one of our meetings. However, we have sadly lost Wendy Cracknell who was one of our founder members.

As we could not decide on a venue for our usual dinner in August, we met at Jean Farrington’s house and had a very enjoyable Chinese takeaway.

Five attended the WRAC dinner at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool – a good time was had by all.

As we were unable to organise a Christmas function, we were invited by Joan Awbrey and the Norfolk Branch to a post Christmas Lunch at Norwich. There we had the pleasure of the company of Lt Col (Retd) Sue Westlake and our Area Chairman, Pat Stevenson – a mini area reunion!

Four members attended the AGM in London, two had attended the ATS 70th Anniversary Celebration on the previous day and reported having a marvellous time.
