From time to time Greater London Branch come
out of hiding, just to let you all know that we are still going strong.
Unfortunately, we now have so many members who are no longer able to travel
to London; otherwise our attendance numbers would have been much larger.
Thanks goes to them all for still supporting the Greater London Branch – a
very loyal group of ladies.
Back in April we had the pleasure of a visit
from the Reverend Roger Hall who is the Chaplain at the Tower of London. He
gave us a very entertaining insight of his career in the military up to and
including his present post. All the members present said that they could
have listened to him speak all afternoon.
As most of you will know we only meet three
times a year, and this causes a big problem when one tries to organise an
event for the members from April to September. Well this year we managed it.
On 5 June we held a Summer Lunch at the Victory Services Club – Lt Col (Retd)
Sue Westlake and Maj (Retd) Jane Freebairn were our guests of honour and 30
members attended.

The Victory Services Club certainly did us
proud, everything was spot on from the layout of the Grill Room through to
the meal. Their staff were so helpful that it made an overall happy
atmosphere, so much so that no one was keen to go home at the end – I think
that speaks for its self.
Our best wishes go to all the Association branches and
hope you all have a very happy time whatever you may be doing.
