We continue to have very friendly monthly
meetings at which any members living in and around Leeds would be most
welcome. Nine members enjoyed one of the best Northern Area lunches and
re-unions. Thank you to the Committee and all helpers for making it such a
success. Train travel has improved 100% so we arrived in Middlesbrough in
good spirits.
In October we had our AGM where the
Committee agreed to carry on with the help of all members. We hope to have
more outings in the spring and summer possibly including a visit to the
Arboretum.
November saw our usual involvement in the
Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Day services. Our Chairman was entertained in
the Officers’ Mess by members of 269 Bty RA TA. Five members attended the
Royal British Legion Womens’ Section AGM in Huddersfield. Some hope to
attend the National AGM in April.
Our Christmas Party is arranged as usual at
Thomas Danby Catering College in Leeds where we always receive Gold Star
service.
Best wishes to all members for a Happy and
successful 2008.
TERRITORIALS
Mrs Betty France thanks the twelve members who have contacted her – there
must be more! She was thinking of arranging a reunion but wonders if as
many as possible could attend the 70th Birthday Party at the
Victory Services Club and they could meet up then. Why organise a
reunion when it is being organised for you? Come on the true
Territiorials, let’s see you there! Editor: I wonder if Jayne
Knight has contacted Betty France? See her details in the Letter
Section.
