There
are only seven members who regularly get together so we meet up in each
other’s houses. It’s better for us as the hall was far too big for so few.
We
have been back in action since October 2006 after a lull of six months due to
illness.
In
June we will meet up with Canterbury for their Branch 60th Birthday
celebrations. We are made very
welcome there. An invitation has
been received from the “Not Forgotten Association” for four members to
attend the garden party being held at Buckingham Palace on 16 July.
Our Chairwoman Margaret Gallafent will be 60 in June and Helen Dodd has
made her home and garden available for members and family to help her
celebrate.
Strawberry
tea will be in Maidstone this year but we hope to have a cream tea later on in
the year. The Veterans Day will
be held at the Chatham historic dockyard on 7 July and members have got their
forms for tickets.
We
still have a bring and buy and raffles and hope to have a boot fair in the
future raising money for Branch funds.
Janet
Cameron would like to thank all those who sent cards, messages, flowers and
telephone calls when she became seriously ill.
She is improving slowly but surely.
Regards
to all the Branch members that are unable to attend the meetings – we hope
to keep you all informed every 3 months.
Best
wishes to all members of the Association.
Editor: And to you too, Janet. It was good to see you
looking so much better at the Canterbury 60th Birthday party!
