In October we had our AGM which was well
attended and our current Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer were all voted
in to serve another year.
June, August and September we had our usual
Chat and Raffle, along with quizzes compiled by Sylvia Johnson and myself.
The September quiz was “Voices from the Past”: many from the war years
(politicians, singers, comedians etc). Sylvia must have some very old
records and films in her collection! Our July meeting was about the day our
most senior members went off to war. A real eye opener for them all and a
dramatic change to their lives.
At the end of August several members went to
see “When the Lights Go on Again” at the Spa Pavilion in Felixstowe which
was a trip down memory lane for many members – not me, I’m too young! The
show was about life during the war and had lots of the more popular war
songs for the audience to sing along with the cast. The show was thoroughly
enjoyed by all.
At our November meeting we replaced the usual
Raffle with a Christmas Gift Raffle and also enjoyed some home baking with
our afternoon cuppa or tipple along with general chit-chat.
