After a few relaxed meetings since
November, the first official meeting of the Tamworth Branch of the WRAC
Association was held at the Moat House on 14 March. Vee Moore was elected as
Chairman, Belle Jenkinson Secretary and Anne Lovegrove as Treasurer. We now
meet on the last Wednesday of the month in the Royal British Legion in
Aldergate at 7.30 p.m. We have sixteen members coming regularly and two from
Birmingham Branch who join us. We would also love to see any ex-members who
live in Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Swadlincote, Burton, Cannock and
villages in between. If you are reading this, please come along. You will be
made most welcome.

We are going to visit the National Memorial
Arboretum on Saturday 11 July and we are still putting together a forecast
of events for the rest of the year.
Vee, Nancy and Belle are already members
of the WRAC Dinner Club and some of our new members will be attending this
year, so eventually we are hoping to have a Tamworth table. I am sure they
will enjoy it and may meet up with someone they served with.
